TEG Dehydration Unit
The objective of the dehydration unit is to remove the water present in the natural gas stream. Typically, produced gas from reservoirs and gas fields is saturated with moisture and is at its water dew point. The presence of water in the gas stream can lead to various problems in downstream processes. The main issues include:
- Freezing of downstream equipment and blockage of flow paths at low temperatures due to the formation of ice or hydrates.
- Acidic corrosion of equipment in the presence of acid gases such as Hydrogen Sulfide and Carbon Dioxide.
Considering the mentioned issues and in accordance with existing standards, the water content in natural gas must be maintained below a specified limit. In the dehydration unit, the water contained in the natural gas is absorbed by TEG, and the gas dew point is adjusted according to the downstream process requirements, gas transportation conditions, operating temperature, and other relevant parameters.
