Molecular Sieve Gas Dehydration

One of the methods used for natural gas dehydration is molecular sieve technology. A major advantage of this method is its ability to remove moisture from the gas stream so as to reduce the dew point of the outlet gas to very low levels. Achieving these conditions makes it possible to carry out the separation of Ethane and Methane at low temperatures while preventing ice formation and, consequently, blockage of flow paths in downstream units.

The system consists of several adsorption beds filled with molecular adsorbents. These beds operate alternately, with each bed serving as an adsorption tower during its service cycle. After the adsorption stage is completed, the bed is regenerated at a lower pressure using hot gas and is subsequently cooled to prepare it for the next service cycle. The use of a PLC-based control system enables the precise and automatic sequencing of various operations, including adsorption, switching to the next bed, depressurization, heating, cooling, and repressurization of the beds.
